Recently my 47" LG LCD TV started making popping sounds and crackling noises. No sooner than a month passed and my TV was pronounce useless. All I got when I pressed ON was a black screen and a red power light flashing. The red power LeD would stay blinking forever until I pressed OFF and then it would stay a solid red like most electronics these days. So I made a few phone calls and did a quick research online and found out that it would cost over $500 to fix my TV which just so happened to be a month after my warranty expired. I did some more reasearch and realized I can fix it myself for under $30. The problem with my LG was the capacitors. A quick opening of the back panel will show you if this your problem.
